The Head of the Catholic Church in Fiji, Archbishop Peter Loy Chong blessed the five teams that will be taking part for Marist Brothers High School in the Vodafone Super Deans national quarter finals this Saturday, and stressed the need to make use of their God given talents.

While speaking during the Mass at Brother Lambert Hall today, Archbishop Chong says when we look at the special characters of the school in terms of faith based schools like Marist, this blessing is the pinnacle in terms of preparation in any major event as spiritual beings seek spiritual intervention for guidance.

President of Marist Old Boys Association, Koli Korovulavula says today's blessing was a much needed one for the teams preparing for the quarter finals. Korovulavula says they are going against a team that has the most wins in the Under 18 Deans Trophy Competition, and they give all the respect to Queen Victoria School.

He says its going to be a good battle and he is hoping the best team wins.

Marist is represented in five grades from the under 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18.

Marist will play Ra High in the under 14 grade, the under 15s will face Sigatoka Methodist College, the under 16s play Lelean Memorial School, the under 17 team takes on Dawasamu Secondary School and the under 18 side will face QVS.

Marist will take on QVS at 3.55pm at the HFC Bank Stadium.
