Alleged victim currently giving evidence in the trial of a former senior executive of a company charged with indecent assault

An alleged victim is currently giving evidence in the trial of a former senior executive of a publicly listed company who is charged with 3 counts of indecent assault.

The first 2 counts of indecent assault are in relation to the first woman who alleges that the senior executive committed the offence on 2 separate occasions in June and September 2019.

The third count of indecent assault is in relation to the second woman who alleged that he committed the offence in May 2019.

The boyfriend of the first woman is expected to take the stand this afternoon.

Meanwhile, upon the application of the prosecution yesterday, the court has ordered name suppression and closed court hearing when the two alleged victims give evidence.

The defence lawyer's application for the former senior executive to be permitted to testify in closed court was also granted by Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili.

The trial is continuing in the Suva Magistrates Court.
