Alleged drug kingpin Avneel Chand from Lautoka out on bail

Avneel Chand, who is an alleged key player in the local illicit drug trade, has been released on bail by the Lautoka Magistrates Court and will appear on 13th October.

Chand was arrested at his home in Lautoka after being allegedly found with white crystals confirmed to be methamphetamine, white powder confirmed to be cocaine and dried leaves confirmed to be marijuana.

Three others - Kunal Prasad, Alex Chandra and Trisha Reddy have all been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

They are all charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs of 31.129 grams of methamphetamine, 5.52 grams of cocaine and 34.8 grams of marijuana.

Police will not make any comments as the matter is before the court.
