Alleged Suva murderer to take plea tomorrow

24-year-old Kali Masibalavu who allegedly murdered a 25-year-old man outside Harbour Centre in Suva on the 2nd of November will take his plea tomorrow.

Masibalavu, who is charged with one count of murder, appeared before High Court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe this morning.

DPP Unal Lal has informed the court that they are not objecting to his bail application however, details of the sureties have not been provided.

Justice Rajasinghe has asked the defence counsel to submit the details of the sureties and location of the offender if bail is granted.

Lal has also informed that he was not able to submit the disclosures as the video recorded interview was not transcribed and he is waiting for the post morterm report.

Justice Rajasinghe has informed him that disclosures should have been submitted within the 21 days time frame and he should take responsibility.

It is alleged that Masibalavu stabbed the victim during a dispute in Suva.
