All storms pass and the sun shall rise again - Prasad

National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad.

National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad says as we celebrate Christmas this year, we must not forget that many of our fellow citizens are reeling from the devastating impact of Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasa and thousands of others are unemployed due to COVID-19.

Prasad says it is times like these that bring out the best in us and this is when we unite to help our fellow Fijians in need.

He has urged Fijians to be encouraged by the thought that all storms pass and that the sun shall rise again.

The NFP Leader says when he visited the devastated areas in the North, he came across examples of unselfish service and hundreds of good Samaritans who have sacrificed their holidays to come to the aid of our cyclone-stricken victims.

He says we unite as a nation during both triumphant days and times of adversity and right now there is an abundance of goodwill, generosity and unity that gives true meaning to the spirit of Christmas.

Prasad says we face grave problems but those that came before us have faced far greater difficulties and have overcome them through courage and calm determination.

He adds in in difficult times we may be tempted to find excuses for self-indulgence and to wash our hands of responsibility but Christmas stands for the opposite.
