Acting Police Commissioner, Juki Fong Chew has reminded officers in the North not to allow negativity, assumptions or rumors to get in the way of their duty.

Chew says if officers have an issue, address it and focus on what matters the most which is service delivery.

He highlighted this while speaking at the Northern Division Police medal presentation and says that they have to be effective and add value to their purpose.

The Acting Commissioner further says they have to do better by focusing on their core roles and responsibilities and do justice to the oath they serve.

He adds that unfortunately, some of their comrades have chosen the wrong path and now find themselves awaiting their fate before a court of law.

Chew says it is even more unfortunate, that their families are now suffering too.

Meanwhile, a total of 34 officers were awarded the Fiji Police Medal and 38 officers were awarded with the Fiji Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.
