Fiji Labour Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry

Fiji Labour Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry says mothers are the epitome of love, care, sacrifice and compassion and it is only fitting that a special day be set aside to celebrate not only motherhood but all the endearing qualities that define a mother.

He says a mother’s love is all encompassing – she is gentle, she is caring, she will make the greatest sacrifices to make us happy and ensure that we are comfortable at all times.

Chaudhry adds a mother is uncomplaining as she cooks, cleans and tidies up our mess.

The FLP Leader says history is littered with examples of the great fortitude and tenacity shown by mothers to protect their children from harm or in times of danger.

He adds that a mother is God’s gift to mankind as she shares our joys, pains and sorrows and she guides us through life and teaches us the values that make us better human beings.
