A lot of people in Fiji do not plan or worry about retirement but whether you like it or not, everybody will retire one day.

This has been highlighted by the Fiji National Provident Fund’s General Manager Member Services, Alipate Waqairawai, who says one of the basic functions that is required of them is to carry out member education advocacy.

He says this is done to increase the financial literacy of the members to prepare them for their retirement while they are still healthy, strong and earning.

He says their member advocacy team is being resourced and are going to workplaces to talk about planning for retirement.

FNPF currently has more than 399,000 members and has registered about 19,500 new members this financial year.
