89,000 Social Welfare recipients will be receiving $50 top up this week as per the announcement in the Revised 2021/2022 National Budget.

This includes all recipients of the Social Pension Scheme, Poverty Benefit Scheme, Disability Allowance Scheme, Care and Protection Allowance and the expanded Food Voucher for Rural Pregnant Mothers program.

The Ministry of Poverty Alleviation says this additional $50 will be added to the normal monthly welfare payments.

It adds that the payment will be directly made to the recipients’ bank account, digital wallet or vouchers and there is no application required.
