The people of Kadavu have been sharing information and supporting Police in their ongoing drug operations on the island.

7,000 marijuana plants were uprooted from two farms in Lavidi, Nakasaleka, Kadavu last week.

Chief Operations Officer, ACP Abdul Khan says the successful seizures were possible through tip offs received from concerned individuals.

ACP Khan says people are willingly sharing information despite earlier opposition against their operations adding they have noticed a significant change in the way their teams are accepted on the ground.

ACP Khan says they would have to fly drones to search for farms, but drones are now used to locate the quickest route to the farms that they have confirmed through information shared.
