A local, 4 Asian nationals, a Palau national and a Federated States of Micronesia national held by Police

Seven people are now in custody following multiple joint drug raids conducted in the Central and Southern Divisions, by the Fiji Police Force's Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, Fiji Detector Dog Unit, Police Mobile Force and Fiji Immigration Department.

Police confirm a Fijian national and six foreign nationals are in custody.

fijivillage News has established that the four are people from Asia while one is from Palau and one is from Federated States of Micronesia.

It has been confirmed that the white substances seized from Flagstaff and Rewa Street in Suva is methamphetamine following analysis conducted by the Fiji Police Forensics Science Services.

A large amount of local and foreign currencies believed to be proceeds of crime, has also been seized.

The suspects continue to be questioned as investigations continue.

Investigations are also ongoing in relation to the raids conducted in the Western Division, and more details will be released soon.

Officers can be seen searching homes and vehicles of those involved in the major methamphetamine ring.

fijivillage News has received information that large amounts of methamphetamine and cash was found in houses and vehicles in Rewa Street and Flagstaff in Suva, Votualevu and Martintar in Nadi and Viseisei in Vuda, Lautoka.

The houses remain cordoned off today and Police vehicles and officers are still at the scene.
