A 7.2 magnitude earthquake occurred 31 kilometres North East from Luganville, Vanuatu at about 8.44pm.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 88 kilometres.
However, the Fiji Seismology Department says it does not pose any immediate tsunami threat to the Fiji region.
