More cancer patients in Fiji will now receive transportation, medication, home visits, medical supplies and palliative care after a $65,625 donation to the Fiji Cancer Society , raised through NEWWORLD IGA’s Pinktober campaign.

NEWWORLD IGA’s Head of Merchandise and Marketing, Sameer Patel says the donation represents the generosity of the community and the dedication of the company’s team, suppliers and customers.

He says NEWWORLD IGA remains committed to supporting the Fiji Cancer Society and ensuring cancer patients and their families receive the care they need.

Meanwhile, Fiji Cancer Society Finance Chair, Atonio Takala, acknowledged NEWWORLD IGA’s long-standing support, saying it has helped FCS provide essential services such as transportation, medication, home visits, medical supplies and palliative care.

He says the funds were collected through donation cans at NEWWORLD IGA checkout counters, with strong support from customers, suppliers and vendors.

He adds that together we can foster a future where cancer is detected early and treated effectively, giving more individuals the chance of a healthier life.
