64 COVID-19 patients are currently on oxygen support and 3 patients are on ventilators – Dr Tudravu

The Health Ministry's Chief Medical Advisor Doctor Jemesa Tudravu says 64 COVID-19 patients are currently on oxygen support and 3 patients are on ventilators.

Tudravu says they continue isolation services in hospitals where they have a total of 332 patients who are currently admitted for COVID-19 of which 91 are in a severe or critical condition.

He says today marks 101 days of the current outbreak with more than 22,000 confirmed cases and more than 170 deaths.

Tudravu says 82 percent of the people that have died so far have not been vaccinated and 18 percent had at least one dose.

He says in the last 24 hours 3,087 individuals were screened and 422 individuals swabbed.

Tudravu says all the health care facilities remain fully functional.

He says the emergency services at the CWM Hospital is now fully operational and COVID-19 patients are admitted at CWM and FEMAT Field Hospital depending on the severity of their cases.

Tudravu says the General Outpatients Services continue in all the other Health Centres in the Lami, Suva and Nausori areas.
