62 people from 14 families are still taking shelter at four active evacuation centres in the Western and Eastern Divisions.
In a statement, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says there are three active evacuation centres in the Western Division, supporting 12 families and 43 people.
He says this includes Saint Andrews Primary School, which remains active due to flooding along the Nawaka tramline, as well as the Nalele and Yako Village Halls.
He says one centre is open in the Eastern Division at Lawaki Village in Kadavu, supporting two families and 19 people.
He says the Ministry of Rural, Maritime Development and Disaster Risk Management will travel to Yasawa tomorrow to carry out initial damage assessments and distribute rations to families in need.
In terms of health and community support, the Prime Minister says health teams are actively conducting awareness campaigns on leptospirosis, typhoid, dengue, and diarrhoeal diseases, particularly in affected communities and evacuation centres.
He says disinfection of evacuation centres is underway to ensure schools are ready to reopen.
Meanwhile, four out of seven schools in Ba have been cleared.
The Prime Minister highlighted that initial damage assessments have been completed in Nadroga/Navosa, with reports pending to guide recovery support.
Rabuka says that humanitarian partners, including ADRA, are working with the Government to provide food rations and support to affected communities.
While conditions are improving, Rabuka urges all Fijians to remain cautious, avoid flooded or unsafe areas, follow official advisories, and support ongoing recovery efforts in their communities.
