Restoration works continue across the Western Division, with steady progress in water supply, and road access while some communities still facing issues in terms of electricity.

Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka provided an update on essential services following TC Vaianu.

Rabuka says efforts are ongoing at the Matovo Water Treatment Plant in Nadroga to restore normal water operations.

He says in Ba, about 90 percent of the water supply has been reinstated, with teams working to achieve full restoration in the remaining areas.

Rabuka says electricity supply has improved in several areas, in Nadi power has been fully restored.

In Ba, electricity has been restored to the central business district and most residential areas.

He further says work is still ongoing in outer parts of Ba to fully restore supply.

However, some communities in Nadroga and Navosa—including Ciri, Naidiri, Maro, Tuva, and Lomawai are still experiencing power outages as repair work continues.

The Prime Minister says Lautoka remains one of the most affected areas, with most locations still without electricity while restoration efforts are underway.

Meanwhile, Rabuka says road access in Nadroga and Navosa has now been fully restored.

He adds that Fiji Roads Authority confirms that structural inspections and repair works will continue over the coming weeks, alongside longer-term rebuilding plans that will incorporate climate-resilient upgrades.
