59 COVID-19 cases since Monday

Fijians are being urged to remain vigilant as the Health Ministry has recorded 59 new cases of COVID-19 since Monday.

24 cases were recorded on Tuesday, 16 cases recorded on Wednesday while 19 cases were recorded in the 24 hour period ending at 8am yesterday.

Permanent Secretary for Health Doctor James Fong says 26 cases were from the Central Division, 29 recorded in the Western Division and four cases in the North.

Dr Fong says there are currently 158 active cases of COVID-19 in the country.

The national 7-day rolling average of cases as of 29th May is 13 daily cases.

The Health Ministry confirms that there have been no new deaths due to COVID-19 since the last update.
