5-year-old Inisevoli Navakavua and 1-year-old Laala Kiseli received a new gift of life from the Sai Sanjeevani Children's Heart Hospital.

Poate Navakavua says they took their daughter to the hospital because she was not eating well and also after noticing changes in the color of her nails and lips.

He says their family were so sad and heartbroken when they found out after the tests that Inisevoli had a heart problem.

He says they are grateful and happy for their daughter's successful surgery as she is now very playful and eats well.

Meanwhile, Mapin Nakiri, the mother of 1-year-old Laala Kiseli, says her daughter had breathing problems and was sick when they took her to the hospital in Kiribati.

She says after some tests she was informed about her daughter's heart disease and was then referred to the Sai Sanjeevani Children's Heart Hospital here in Fiji.

Nakiri says she is thankful to the Lord for her daughter's surgery and urges all parents to take their children for checkups if they notice any changes in their child and in their health.

Sai Sanjeevani Children's Heart Hospital Director Doctor Krupali Tappoo says there have been 259 surgeries conducted so far and she is thankful to the coalition government for providing them with the grants.
