Five people including a 39-year-old caretaker of Lautoka have been arrested for their alleged involvement in an aggravated robbery case where a vehicle, items and cash estimated to be worth more than $178,000 were allegedly stolen last week.

Police say the suspect is alleged to have robbed items including gadgets, jewellery, liquor, food and cash including the victim's vehicle estimated to be worth more than $178,000 from a businessman at Naikabula in Lautoka.

Police say the vehicle was later found abandoned along the Tavakubu Back Road.

They say he was arrested by the Western Division Task Force and the CID team following information received from members of the public.

Four others alleged to be linked to the same case were also taken in for questioning after they were arrested in the Western and Southern Division following a joint operation.

Two of the suspects were arrested in Lautoka yesterday while the other two were arrested at Delainavesi this morning.
