400 residents of Nadari in Ba now have access to safe and clean water after the government commissioned a Multi-Purpose Irrigation Project in their community.

Resident, Navin Kumar Gosai says this is a timely assistance as access to safe and clean water has been a problem in their community for almost 20 years.

Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Dr. Mahendra Reddy says this project is a simple innovation which did not cost a fortune and will cater for the entire community.

Reddy says this would also enhance farming activities and encourage the community to contribute to the growth of the agriculture sector in Fiji.

The Ministry will provide water through the gravity-fed irrigation project and will also carry out maintenance work on the existing reservoir.
