A 40-year-old General Manager from Tamavua will appear in court today after being charged with the alleged unlawful importation of illicit drugs last Thursday.
Police say the man and three others were arrested following a joint operation that uncovered 640 grams of cocaine hidden inside a device labelled as a ‘Smoke Machine’.
They say the consignment, which was sent from Brazil, was intercepted last Monday after a detector dog identified it as suspicious.
They add that a controlled delivery led to the arrest of the suspects, with one formally charged and expected to appear in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
Investigations are continuing.
