40-year-old man charged for the rape and sexual assault of his 13-year-old step-daughter pleads not guilty

A 40-year-old man from Nausori who is alleged to have raped and sexually assaulted his 13-year-old step-daughter has pleaded not guilty to his charges.

The man appeared before Suva High Court Judge, Justice Daniel Goundar today.

He has been charged with five representative counts of rape, one representative count of sexual assault and a count each of rape and sexual assault.

The alleged offences took place between the first of January, 2014 to 22nd of October, 2018 in Nausori.

The case will be called again on the 29th of June for the pre-trial conference.

The man has been remanded in custody.
