Four men who have been charged with allegedly attacking Police officers in Kadavu last week have been remanded in custody by the Suva Magistrates Court

Four men charged with allegedly attacking Police officers in Kadavu last week have been remanded in custody by the Suva Magistrates Court.

Iliesa Bula, Ignisio Ledua, Leanaitasi Nuku and a 17-year-old boy have been charged with two counts of serious assault and one count of throwing stones.

It is alleged they assaulted two police officers and threw stones at another police officer.

The fifth accused, Iliesa Nabulu is charged with one count of criminal intimidation.

It is alleged Nabulu threatened a police officer by holding a fishing spear in his hand and said “you can get killed here”.

The five aged between 17 to 49 years allegedly attacked a group of police officers during a drug raid in Gasele Village, Kadavu last week. Their bail ruling will take place next Monday.

The juvenile has been granted bail.
