Four known offenders are in custody at the Nausori Police Station after they allegedly attempted to invade a businessman's home in Nausori early this morning.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan says a tip-off was received by the Nausori Police team around midnight in regards to the four men acting suspiciously near the home of the businessman.

Khan says all teams in the area including a team from Nakasi and the K9 Unit were alerted.

He says around 1.20 this morning, the suspects were intercepted before the execution of their planned job and they tried to escape from the scene.

The well known offenders were allegedly armed with pinch bars, a kitchen knife and a steel rod when they were arrested at Vuci Road.

Investigations continue.
