Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga has maintained that the Police Force is not corrupt, as 37 officers have been taken to court for drug-related offences in the last three years.
He says police have charged these officers through their internal processes and systems, and this number is equivalent to 0.7 percent of the entire Force.
Lutunauga says this is not even 1 percent of the whole Force.
He reiterates that police will continue their work as mandated under Section 5 of the Police Act, which is to protect life and property.
He adds that in the past three years, police have confiscated a total of 31.5 tonnes of green and white drugs, with a total street value of $3.9 billion.
