35 Asset Managers from ministries, government corporations and the private sector are now better equipped with knowledge in terms of managing assets for their respective areas of responsibilities after receiving certificates of an Asset Management Training in Fiji.

Participants learned about the principles of asset management, asset management policy, strategy and planning, managing asset life cycle decisions and activities, and assessing and managing asset management risks in the Pacific context.

While officiating at the Certificate Presentation, United States Ambassador Joseph Cella says with the tools and skills that the participants have acquired from their training, they are now better equipped to manage the risks and protect essential infrastructure which Fijians heavily rely on.

Cella says this activity represents the U.S. government’s strong commitment to support Fiji in its development journey and build a more resilient and sustainable Pacific region.

A Scientific Officer of the Fiji Meteorological Services, Orisi Naba says he is glad to be part of the program, especially with COVID-19 limiting what they can or could have ventured out to.

Naba says the training that they have been provided with will help them manage their assets. Participants came from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Ministry of Communications; Ministry of Local Government, Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Economy, Fiji Roads Authority, Land Transport Authority, Energy Fiji Limited, Water Authority of Fiji and private engineering consulting firm, Erasito Consultants.
