30 students awarded prizes for essay competition on Climate Change

30 students were awarded cash prizes and certificates for taking part in the 2022 Essay competition on Climate Change organised by the Fiji Association in Auckland.

Fiji Association in Auckland(Inc) member, Dr Satendra Singh was impressed and congratulated all the students who participated in the Climate Change competition last year.

He says over 400 entries were received from 75 schools across Fiji who competed in the competition.

Singh says this is jointly sponsored by the NZ High Commission in Fiji and the Fiji Association in Auckland Inc., with the support from the Ministry of Education.

The prize giving ceremony was attended by students, teachers, parents and representatives from the Education Ministry and the Climate Change Department.

The prize winners are as follow: Certificate of Commendation: The Supreme Winners Siddhi Mani of Tavua College and Benjamin Weatherall of Natabua High School

Certificate of Excellence: Ana Tidrasi of Yasawa High School, Presley Singh of Xavier College, Sagrika Suhani of PT Vishnu Deo Memorial College, Immanuel Temoledua of Maharishi Sanatan College and Sareshtha Goundar of Jai Narayan College.

Ceritificate of Merit: Lucy Tunaceva of Nadogo Central College, Kavitesh Karan of Sigatoka Methodist College, Shivesh Nand of Saraswati College, Aliveta Quto of Mulomulo Secondary School, Nikolai Tarte of Yat Sen Secondary School, Ricky Chand of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High, Aralai Seru of Naiyala High School, Rynal Nath of Votualevu College, Rishal Prasad of Vunimono High School, Munish Naicker of Balata College, Ravidu Rathnaweera of Sigatoka Andhra Sangam College, Shaima Khan of Kamil Muslim College and Ulamila Tuikenawa of Adi Cakobau School.

Certificate of Honorable Mention: Riya Kumar of Tilak High School, Taraivini Senikai of Navesau Adventist High School, Archal Singh of Korovuto College, Sulia Mata of Lekutu Secondary School, Mohammed Zuber of Suva Muslim College, Simone Soqeta of Nasinu Secndary School, Ritvik Chand of Sangam SKM College, Grace Pasirio of St Joseph’s Secondary School and Bhavik Kumar of Central College.
