A 28-year-old man from Naigani Village in Ovalau has passed away after he failed to surface while diving with three others in the Naigani waters.

Divisional Police Commander East Senior Superintendent of Police Josua Vodo says the victim was reported missing on Thursday night, and later a search was conducted where they found only the victim’s torch.

The body of the man was recovered near Nairai Village yesterday.

Meanwhile, a search is ongoing for a 19-year-old who had gone for a swim in the Rewa River this morning.

SSP Vodo says a report was received after 9am where the 19-year-old disappeared after he had gone swimming.
