2,600 athletes have so far registered to take part in the 2025 Coca-Cola Games from this Thursday and the numbers are expected to increase as entries from the Maritime Zone are yet to be finalized.

Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association General Secretary, Biu Colati says the registration process is still ongoing.

Colati says they anticipate the number of participants could reach a similar total to last year, which was 2,890 athletes.

Colati says this year, there will be a maximum of nine heats on the track events, compared to six heats last year.

Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro emphasized that this year’s Coca-Cola Games will be a strictly drug-free event.

Radrodro says the Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics competition brings together talented young athletes from schools across the country, with the dedicated support of teachers, parents, alumni, and friends – all working to support the students throughout the three-day competition.

He adds all students, supporters and attendees are reminded that the possession or consumption of illicit substances will not be tolerated within the stadium premises or during the event.

The Coca-Cola Games will take place from this Thursday to Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
