A 25-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with allegedly murdering his 59-year-old grandmother in Navua. Police say Kasioni Dau committed the offence on the 24th of June 2024.
They say he was arrested on June 25th, 2024 and was taken to Saint Giles Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation before he was released back to police custody earlier this week.
Police say following questioning and legal advice, Dau was officially charged with murder and he will be produced in court on the 23rd of this month.
