232 children got free heart surgeries at the Sai Sanjeevni Children’s Heart Hospital in Nasese.

This has been highlighted by the Hospital Director Doctor Krupali Tappoo during the Hospital Tour with the media today.

Doctor Tappoo says there have been surgeries conducted by 7 different teams on children from Fiji, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.

She says there will be another team coming from Australia for a week to conduct more surgeries.

Doctor Tappoo says it is really important for parents to get their children screened to detect any sickness at an early stage.

She says they have also conducted surgeries on babies aged 5 months old as well as teenagers from 14 to 16 years old.
