21 farmers have received $400 worth of farming kit each under the Back To Rural Agriculture programme.

The $400 package consists of $250 worth of farming tools, $100 worth of planting materials and $50 cash.

The farming tools include one farm knife, one fork, one spade, one 20 litre water bucket, one water can, an axe, 50 metre rope, one set of tarpaulin and 1 set shade cloth.

Minister for Agriculture Dr. Mahendra Reddy says the primary objective of the programme is to assist those households who have lost their jobs and have decided to move back to rural areas with their family and utilise the vacant land to start agricultural business.

He further added that farmers need to prove that this is a successful programme which will do justice to the next lot of recipients.
