2023 Coca-Cola Games' best senior boys athlete Ratu Tuili Mataika of RKS sprints to the finish line in the 800m senior boys final.

2023 Coca-Cola Games' best senior boys athlete Ratu Tuili Mataika aims to represent Fiji on the international stage in the future.

Mataika was awarded the achievement after winning a gold medal each in the 400 metres and 800 metres final and a bronze in the 4x400 metres final.

He says he did not expect to receive the best senior boys athlete award because of stiff competition during the 3-day meet.

He adds he would like to represent Fiji in athletics.

The 19-year-old has dedicated his achievement to his parents, family, RKS students and old scholars for the tremendous support provided to the athletics team during the competition.

RKS finished second in the overall boys tally with 9 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals.

Marist Brothers High School won the overall boys' title after winning 13 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze, while Suva Grammar came third with 7 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze.
