Josua Dolo and Harish Kevin Kumar breached COVID-19 related restrictions by operating a non-essential business last Friday.

The manager and a worker who opened the Exotic Fiji Limited outlet in the Central Division have been fined $2000 and $1000 respectively.

Harish Kevin Kumar and Josua Dolo breached COVID-19 related restrictions by operating a non-essential business last Friday.

They had earlier pleaded guilty to their charge and have been given three months to pay the fine.

If they fail to do so, then Kumar will have to spend 200 days in jail while Dolo will spend 100 days in jail.

Suva Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne has told the men that the Permanent Secretary for Health had given a directive for all non-essential businesses to be closed but instead they were selling movies.

Somaratne says the two men have not only breached the restrictions but have put the community at risk.

The case will be called on 18th August.
