A 19-year-old man has passed away after allegedly being hit by a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old man along the Labasa/Wainikoro Road near Naleba.
Police say the incident had occurred after 9pm on Saturday when the victim allegedly ran onto the road resulting in the accident.
They say the road death toll currently stands at 30 compared to 56 for the same period last year.
Investigations are continuing to verify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
