19-year-old Simeli Daunivucu is making a name for himself quickly in French Rugby after being selected in the France XVs 42-member squad that will be touring Argentina for the July test series next weekend.

The son of former Fiji Men’s 7s and 15s rep Jone Daunivucu, rose to stardom last year making his Top 14 debut for La Rochelle and making playing a total of 8 matches in the 2023/2024 season.

Simeli represented the France Under 20 side against Scotland in the Six Nations U20 Championship in February this year.

The utility back is now following the footsteps of his fellow Fijians Virimi Vakatawa, Alifereti Raka and Noa Naikataci who all have represented France in the 15s code but he will be hoping to make his international debut in this tour.

France will take on Argentina at 7am Sunday 7th of July 2024 in Mendoza, Argentina.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Water Flying Fijians are turning their focus now to their next test match against Georgia on Saturday 6th July 2024.
