A 18-year-old man of Sawakasa Village in Tailevu will appear in the Nausori Magistrates Court today charged with one count of damaging property and unlawful wounding.

Police say the man was involved in the stoning of a bus and three trucks which had disembarked from Natovi Jetty, heading towards Suva on Monday night.

The stoning injured a 53-year-old woman who was a passenger inside the bus.

Acting Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga says such incident will not be tolerated.

Lutunauga says thousands of people use that route everyday for traveling and such incident put lives at risks.

The Acting Commissioner says the Police Team will continue to visit the area to conduct awareness on the issue.

Meanwhile, Vula Bilitaki, a FM96 personality, who was on the same bus, told fijivillage News that other vehicles that were ahead of them was stoned as well, including a fire truck.

Further questions have been sent to police.
