175 people taking shelter in 3 evacuation centres in the West

175 people from 66 families are currently taking shelter in three different evacuation centres in the Western Division due to flash flooding.

The Fiji National Disaster Risk Management Office says people are taking shelter at Saint Andrews Primary School, Saioni Methodist Church in Navuso and Korovuto College in Nadi.

As of 1.30am, 129 people are sheltering at St Andrews, 13 at Korovuto College and 33 at Saioni Lavusa Church.

The Fiji Police Force continues to monitor the situation.

The Western Division Command and Coordination Centre can be contacted on 9905457 should anyone require assistance moving to higher ground.
