16-year-old boy allegedly drowns in Nadi

A 16-year-old boy has allegedly drowned while swimming with his family in Nadi yesterday.

Police say the boy was swimming with his family near Sun City Beach, Uciwai in Nadi when he was allegedly swept away by a strong current.

They say the incident occurred after 3pm and his body was later recovered after 6pm.

Investigations continue.
