$1.5 million needed for SODELPA to campaign for 2022 elections- Gavoka

SODELPA Leader Viliame Gavoka.

SODELPA will need $1.5 million to campaign for the 2022 General Elections.

Party Leader Viliame Gavoka says in 2018 they had a budget of under $1 million and he believes they can do better.

Gavoka says SODELPA is a well-known brand in the country and he believes they will come into leadership after the 2022 elections.

He also highlighted that SODELPA will be going back to their strength which is their constituencies and not the rockstar model which FijiFirst is well known for.

He says the rockstar model is what FijiFirst does very well where the Prime Minister is the rockstar and gets 90 percent of the vote.

When questioned if Sitiveni Rabuka's planned proposed party will be a threat in next year's elections, Gavoka says SODELPA is a strong brand that brought in almost 50,000 votes for Ro Teimumu Kepa in 2014 and over 70,000 votes for the former party leader.
