Fiji has recorded 13 new cases of COVID-19 of which 5 new cases were recorded on Monday and 8 new cases in the last 24 hours ending at 8am yesterday.

There are currently 40 active cases in Fiji.

Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong says as of yesterday a total of 114,924 individuals have so far received booster doses.

Dr Fong says while members of the public have been advised to obtain their booster dose after at least 5 months from their second COVID-19 vaccine dose, they will shortly be advising a shorter interval period in recognition of the risk of disease surge.

He adds Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are both available for adult booster doses.
