As we are into the second week of the school holiday, 12-year-old Ashveer Devansh Kumar has been helping his parents run their business in Suva.

Their shop is known as Bargain Thrift Store.

Kumar is a Year 6 student of Neru Memorial Primary School in Toorak.

Kumar, who lives in Namadi Heights, says he always assists his parents during the break because he has witnessed the struggles and sacrifices they make to provide for the family and meet every need.

The 12-year-old is urging students to always support their parents and help them through their challenges.

He is also reminding people that with the rise in non-communicable diseases and other related health issues, it is vital to take precautions and maintain a healthy diet.

Meanwhile, school term 2 begins on the 20th of May.
