10-year-old Jale Radravu Vulakauvaki

Jale Radravu Vulakauvaki, a 10-year-old student who attends St Marcellin Primary School in Suva, is spending his school holidays to support his family’s small business.

Vulakauvaki, who lives in Samabula has taken the responsibility of helping his parents sell doughnuts around Suva City during every school break.

He with his two older siblings assist their mother to run the business to stay occupied.

The 10-year-old says he always helps out during the holidays because whenever he asks his parents for something, they try their best to give it to him.

He says on a good day they sell between 50 and 100 doughnuts.

Vulakauvaki encourages other students to use the school break wisely by helping their parents in any way they can.

Meanwhile, Term 2 of the school year begins for students on Tuesday.
