Waking at dawn, fighting for a Laptop, but graduating side by side

In an inspiring story of determination and sisterhood, twin sisters Talei and Malani Vukicikorolevu from Tailevu graduated together with a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education during the University of the South Pacific graduation ceremony.

The sisters say their love for children and the joy they find in spending time with them inspired them to pursue studies in early childhood education.

Despite facing many challenges, the sisters found that supporting each other along the way made their shared journey more manageable.

Talei shares that although they sometimes argued over the laptop to complete assignments and occasionally exchanged hurtful words, they always reconciled and continued working together.

She adds that their daily routine often involved waking early to travel from Tailevu to attend classes, and she thanked their parents for their unwavering support.

She hopes to further her studies by pursuing a degree in childhood education and eventually transitioning into medicine, while Malani says she plans to complete her degree and explore the field of Information Technology.

The Tailevu twins were part of the 625 USP students who graduated from the School of Agriculture, Geography, Environment, Ocean & Natural Sciences (SAGEONS), School of Business & Management (SBM), School of Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics (STEMP), and Pacific Technical and Further Education (PTAFE).
