Fiji-born Wallabies and Reds winger Suliasi Vunivalu

Fiji-born Wallabies and Reds winger Suliasi Vunivalu has been handed a one week suspension following his red card offence in their 28-19 loss to the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva last Saturday.

Vunivalu was twice yellow carded for trips.

The 28-year-old received his first yellow card in the fourth minute after stopping Drua flanker Kitione Salawa from scoring a certain try illegally.

He then produced a similar action on Drua winger Selestino Ravutaumada in the 45th minute, which slowed the winger down before Tevita Ikanivere eventually crossed for his double.

The Foul Play Review Committee upheld the red card for the pair of yellow cards and issued the one-match suspension.

The Reds will take on the Force at 9.35pm Saturday in round 14 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition.

Meanwhile, the Drua will take on the Highlanders at 2.05pm this Sunday in Dunedin. In other matches this week, the Chiefs play the Hurricanes at 7.05pm Friday, the Brumbies host the Rebels at 9.35pm Friday, Moana Pasifika take on the Waratahs at 4.35pm Saturday, and the Crusaders play the Blues at 7.05pm Saturday.
