Minister for Health Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete

Minister for Health Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete has today praised the nurses of the country for their hard work and dedication and says the importance of nurses cannot be emphasized enough.

Speaking at the World Health Organization International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife celebration in Nausori today, Dr. Waqainabete says within nursing, they are today much better as a group than they ever were.

He says they now have more numbers on the ground and he is looking forward to the graduation in April and May this year where more nurses will come in support the work they do.

Dr. Waqainabete says when Jamaica brought up the resolution last year to have 2020 as the year of the nurse, Fiji was the third country in the world to support the motion.

He says one of the reasons they did that is because Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama cares a lot about our nurses.

Dr. Wqainabete says they really value the work of nurses and has congratulated them for their hard work.
