Tavua College was crowned the overall champions of the Coca Cola Tavua/Vatukoula/Nadarivatu Zone competition.

The Zone had only 5 schools participating with Tavua College winning both the boys and the girls division.

In the boys division, Tavua won 17 gold, 10 silver and 16 bronze with Nadarivatu High School finishing second with 14 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze while Tavua District Secondary School finishing third with 12 gold, 9 silver and 8 bronze.

In the girls division, Tavua College won 20 gold, 20 silver and 11 bronze, Balata College finished second with 10 gold, 7 silver and 15 bronze and Nadarivatu High School finished third with 9 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze.

Nadarivatu High was the overall runner-up of the competition.

The Blue Ribbon event was won by Nadarivatu High School athlete Jope Korotama, who clocked a time of 11.43 seconds.

In a statement, officials of the zone meet revealed that this year, the TVN Athletics Association had awarded athletes who were awarded medals from the Coca-Cola Games last year in the likes of Yeshnil Karan and Tevita Dakuiyau of Tavua College and Rusiate Matai and Analisa Vueti of Balata College.

They say the generosity of the sponsorship of Coca-Cola and the Sports Council together with the support of the local and international residents have gained the popularity of sportsmanship in the little town of Tavua.
