A specialised Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court and an Anti-Corruption Division of the Magistrates Court will now be established which will be presided over by Judges and Magistrates who will deal specifically with cases relating to anti-corruption law.

This will now take place as the High Court Amendment Bill has been passed in parliament.

Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says by having specialised courts, the prosecutors and those that get prosecuted will get a particular level of certainty and this will further reinforce the rule of law.

He says the idea is to ensure that they get consistency in anti-corruption cases.
