The risk of accidents has been reduced for students of Vatukoula Primary School following the construction of two new bus bays in front of the school.
This is part of the Fiji Roads Authority’s upgrade of a 430-metre stretch of Loloma Road in Vatukoula, Tavua.
Vatukoula Primary School Head Teacher, Ivamere Buli expressed her gratitude for the road improvement works, especially the inclusion of two designated bus bays along the school frontage.
She says the bus bays is thoughtful as previously, it was quite risky for their 345 students children when boarding and disembarking from buses, but now the area is much safer.

Buli also acknowledged the upgraded road, saying that it will not only benefit the school but also the wider community.
The next phase of the project, which includes further pavement work, is currently in progress.
