Thousands of people relying on the Tamavua Treatment Plant for water will be affected, as the Water Authority of Fiji reports that heavy rainfall has impacted raw water pump stations, reducing inflow and creating production challenges due to increased turbidity levels.

WAF says that the plant’s raw water inflow has dropped to 85 percent of its normal production capacity, leading to decreased output and lower reservoir levels.

People in elevated areas within the Tamavua region may experience low water pressure or intermittent supply this afternoon.

Affected areas include Tamavua Reservoir, Namadi Heights, Princes Rd, Rewa St, Ratu Sukuna Rd, Nailuva, Delainavesi, high-elevation areas of Lami, Panoramic, Waiqanake, Togalevu, Wrong Turn, Sakoca, Upper Khalsa, Tacirua Heights, Nagatugatu (residents near the reservoir), Tamavua Koro, Upper Ragg, Deovji St,Tacirua Bus Garage, Amputch St, LDS, Twomey, Bel Air Rd, Seventh-Day Church, Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School, Vunuleba Settlement, Naisogo, Colo-i-Suva Crest Chicken,Marshall Rd, Taqairua, Vunikawai, Uluibeka, Colanaivau, Valesasa and Naitaqiri Nillgrey.

WAF assures that water carting services will be provided to affected people.
